Modeler Word : “The third commission in this set of 3, I wanted to do something fun with the paintjob that the other 2 didn’t have. I ended up settling on (trying) to do an eyecatching galaxy pattern on the backpack while the rest of the MS being a pretty much grayscale look. It’s something that I had done somewhat similarly in the MG Hi-Nu ver ka from a while back.
I painted this in a black and white whilst also using @dspiae colour shift paints for a few contrast pieces though it’s not shown up too well due to the small pieces. For the galaxy pattern on the backpack, I had watched a few tutorials online to try to replicate the effect and for the first time doing it, I think it came out decent. I had a good bit of fun with the pattern but I think its going to need to be a bit more aggressive next time for it to really show through.
Truth be told with regards to the actual kit, I was never really sold on the MGSD aesthetic and I’m quite glad that I took this commission as I would never have built an MGSD.
Also made a cover page replicating one of the recent Guardian of the Galaxy movie poster styles. What do you think?
