Modeler Word : “Ever since the first trailer for Gundam GQuuuuuux dropped, and I caught a glimpse of the new Zaku’s police-themed design, I was hyped for this model kit! The changes to its design, especially those massive hips, were a bit controversial at first. But after seeing Gundam GQuuuuuux Beginning, the new look really grew on me, and I absolutely loved it.
I started working on this kit shortly after finishing the painting Gundam GQuuuuuux model kit. It took me a while, as I had a few things to sort out, and I really wanted to take my time to ensure the cleanest possible finish. To combat dust, I made sure to keep all the varnished parts covered in containers large enough to fit them, even with their alligator clips attached.
Another factor that extended the build time was waiting for the water-transfer decals from @delpidecal. While I waited, I also decided to order some resin parts for the kit, which I think was a great idea and totally worth it.
This Zaku is truly beautiful, and it was a fantastic experience to paint and assemble it. It really showcases just how far the High Grade line has come and the incredible quality it offers now. I only photographed it in one pose, as I didn’t want to risk damaging the paint job.
Now, I’m excited to focus on my next project!
